Real/Fake
Real/Fake.
When you buy counterfeit goods, you risk your health and lose your money.
In Venice, you're most likely to be offered fake goods - such as counterfeit designer purses, bags, and belts and sunglasses - at a market or by a street trader, at bargain prices.
According to Italian law, buying counterfeit goods is illegal, and you could be fined up to 7,000 euros.
Reasons to avoid buying counterfeit goods
- The goods may be poor quality or dangerous.
- When you purchase a fake, you're contributing to trademark infringement and tax evasion.
- Sales of fake goods can fund organised crime.
